Built by someone who has already lived the startup grind.
Fractals Network is founded by Matt Moody, a 4x founder, software developer, and startup operator with deep experience building software companies from idea to institutional backing to acquisition.
4x founder · software developer · Techstars alum · acquired SaaS founder
From retention software to local intelligence infrastructure.
Before Fractals, Matt founded Bellwethr, a SaaS platform whose core product, RetentionEngine, used software and machine learning to help companies understand, retain, and grow customer relationships.
Bellwethr went through Techstars in 2018, raised a $3.5 million institutional seed round, and was acquired in 2022 by Stay.ai. That path shaped the operating philosophy behind Fractals: build systems that do real work, compound local data over time, and turn messy human workflows into scalable software.
Fractals applies that same software-builder mindset to local information: stories, events, public meetings, civic data, approval ratings, newsletters, SMS, social video, print, subscriptions, and business revenue products — all connected inside one repeatable market platform.
Software-first
Fractals is not a media consultancy dressed up as software. It is built by a developer who thinks in systems, APIs, automation, data models, and repeatable operations.
Founder-led
The product is shaped by someone who has raised money, sold software, operated through constraints, and understands what entrepreneurs need when launching a market.
Local by design
Fractals is built around the belief that every community deserves a modern local information layer — and that entrepreneurs should be able to launch one without rebuilding the machine from scratch.
Fractals is built for operators.
If you want to own the next generation local newspaper in your market, Fractals gives you the software, workflows, and operating model to start faster.
